About the Weekend

The annual Youth Leaders' Retreat
is a weekend geared toward providing youth workers-paid and volunteers, a chance to network with peers and recharge after a typically busy summer. Expect a time of learning, introspection,
and relaxation.

Weekend Focus

Identity…Who are we? Whose reality do we value the most in ministry? We all must learn to do ministry in community better. Our sessions with Bill, sharing together, and quiet times with God will help us focus on what is important- what we need to add or subtract in our lives to be the healthy spiritual examples for our students and families.

Our Identities Together

About You | With God | Those You Serve

Dear friends,

The Youth Ministry of the Church of God invites you to attend a weekend of sharing, learning, relaxation, & fun as youth leaders from around the state gather for our annual Youth Leaders’ Retreat. This is held at Warner Camp, very close to Grand Junction, Michigan. The grounds of the camp will be beautiful in the fall. You may attend other conferences that are larger, but you will leave this event with the needed refreshment! Read the enclosed brochure carefully & put these dates on your calendar- PLAN ON COMING & bring as many leaders from your church as you can!

The Retreat runs from Friday evening, September 30 through noon on Sunday, October 2, 2011. The cost is $75.00 per person, which includes meals, snacks, lodging, & on-site recreation. We encourage you to ask your church to pay this fee for exceptional training & encouragement for a great price! Weare able to award some partial scholarships for the weekend this year. Contact me if this will make the difference in someone attending from your congregation!

The dress is very casual. Feel free to bring table games or personal recreation equipment (fishing poles, golf clubs, etc.) Also bring some materials that you “wouldn’t want to do youth ministry without” to share with us (books, web sites, games, service projects, fund raisers….) It could be something new you have discovered or something “old & tried & true”. This has become a valuable resourcing portion of the retreat!

So—volunteer leaders, paid staff, “youngsters & oldsters” in Youth Ministry—this retreat is for YOU! We need the “seasoned” leaders to help train & encourage the newer workers. Bring your spouse, all your leaders & use the free time for planning, or just come yourself- be creative with this time! College students who are emerging as leaders are welcome also. We have many new youth workers in MI, so it will be a great time to get acquainted with each other and to learn more about the great Youth Ministries that the Church of God in Michigan offers.

We must have your registration money & forms by Sept. 10 for you to receive the early bird fee of $75.00. After the 10th, the cost increases to $85.00 per person. Get your non-refundable deposit of $20.00 sent in right away!
