The Church of God in Michigan is comprised of over one hundred member churches statewide. The church you are currently attending is a member of this family of churches. As in every family, sometimes we need to support others who need our help. Unfortunate situations occur to even the strongest of churches. Much like your family members, regardless of their health, situations can arise that bring a church to its knees. When these situations occur, the church contacts the State Office for support. Everything from natural disasters, to pastoral guidance, to financial crises, the Church of God in Michigan is your churchs supportive body. The comfort of knowing someone is there when things go wrong is an invaluable item for all our churches. A tool to be used in the development and maintenance of a healthy church. Most every church of our family has needed support at one time or another. Quite possibly the church you are attending right now has requested our services or sometime in the future the State Office may be contacted by your church needing assistance. In the past year, the State Office has received more requests for assistance than we could possibly provide. Churches are in need of our support now more than ever. The submissions for financial support has come from churches of all sizes and from every region. The State Office would like to be able to help every church with all their requests, however, financial constraints prohibit such action. As disheartening as it is there is not enough to go around for everyone. Tough decisions have to be made as to who has to go without. The requests continue to come in faster than the resources to secure them. Many in our family are in need, and there is not enough to go around. This year, the Harvest Offering will be used to try to help as many churches in need as possible. Your contribution to this cause will help to strengthen those in our family who are ailing. After all, we are a family and as with all families we need to stick together and help each other out in times of need. Because someday, it may be your church that needs assistance and who will be there for you? |
